Updates

Please be advised of an upcoming traffic pattern change along Route 288 Southbound between Powhite Parkway and Route 360. The two existing southbound lanes will be shifted on to the recently strengthened outside shoulder so that work in the median may begin. The shift will occur the evening of Monday, August 21st (weather permitting) and will remain in place for several months. Additionally, the posted speed limit will be temporarily reduced through the work zone from 65 MPH to 55 MPH.

Periodic closures of the ramp from Route 288 Southbound to Route 360 Westbound will be required to safely construct portion of the project. The ramp closure will be planned in advance and will only be implemented outside peak travel times from 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM. The first ramp closure is planned to occur the evening of Monday, August 21st (weather permitting). The ramp closure will be lifted the morning of Tuesday, August 22nd. Please follow the detour signs to Commonwealth Centre Parkway while the ramp is closed and use caution when driving through the construction work zone.
